Here are some suggestions:
1. Stories about youth development- slam poetry, you tube, stories about the high achieving and the “not-so-high” achievers, peace zones.
2. Stories about community power- alternative to collapse, housing collectives, community gardens, community recycling programs and clothing swaps.
3. Stories about people- living, working, surviving, thriving in Detroit.
Traditional media can’t be everywhere especially during a time of declining resources. To tell the hidden stories, we must realize that journalism isn’t just for trained journalists.
It can be intimidating, but it can be done.

Be a conduit for the hidden stories. With todays media it is no needed to be filtered, unless you’re editorializing
Discussing Differences was a great experience for me. Discussing Differences is a collaboration with Detroit Synergy and The Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion, MRDI (formerly The National Conference for Community and Justice, NCCJ), with support from the Farbman Group, to help Met! ro Detroiters break down racial and social barriers by using MRDI’s ‘Trading Places’ dialogue series.
