DetNews: Young Folk at Conference Show Promise for Future

The Detroit News printed an editorial today, summarizing overall thoughts about the conference.  While the article touches upon media’s responsibility to report realities, the paper also saw promise in the young leaders and entrepreneurs who were in the audience.

The DN editorial was a farce and confirmed why the MSM no longer has any credibility…The usual suspects were at the conference posturing and preening the few times a couple of young people spoke thier insights were good.

We must get these tired folks removed from contaminating more policy in the city and region…Yikes enogh already of the non-profits and the corporate handlers…

The Detroit News editorial was commendable in giving credit to the younger participants and their energy. The editorial was regrettable, otherwise, in missing the point of the day altogether. Taking Charge of Our Story had nothing to do with “positive” or “negative” stories — it had everything to do with accurate, truthful stories that might make a difference. You, whoever you are, would be better trying to propose something positive or tell your own story instead of anonymously trashing people who are working at making a contribution.
